We are in the process of a pastoral transition.

This is a multi-step process that began with the formation of a Transition Team (TT) and continues with the work of a Call Committee.

Status and Current Opportunities

December 2019
All members were mailed information about our Candidate of Choice.
The candidate was introduced to the congregation at two receptions on Friday, December 6, and Saturday, December 7.

A special congregation meeting will be held on Sunday, December 15, at 10:45 am (following one 9:30 am worship service) for the following votes:
1. To consider calling the Candidate of Choice as Lead Pastor of Saint Andrew’s; and
2. To approve the compensation package approved by the Congregation Council.
All members are eligible to vote. Every voice and vote counts; please plan to attend!

September, October, November 2019
In early September,  the Call Committee received a list of candidates from the Bishop and will begin to conduct interviews.  The process will continue until the Call Committee discerns one candidate for recommendation to the Congregation.

August 2019
During August, the Bishop used the Ministry Site Profile to prayerfully identify candidates with the abilities and qualities the congregation desires. 

The Call Committee sought input from the congregation about what interview questions they should ask pastoral candidates.

July – August 2019
July 17, 2019: The Ministry Site Profile (MSP) was completed and accepted by the Northwest Washington Synod.
The Summary Description from the MSP: Saint Andrew’s is a healthy congregation with inspiring worship, good age diversity and a passion for service in our community.  We live in a multi-cultural region representing a broad spectrum of faith and economic backgrounds.  The new Lead Pastor will partner with strong laity and staff to live out our Mission Statement: “Growing together in Christ to love and serve all people”.

The Call Committee sought input from the congregation about what interview questions they should ask pastoral candidates.

June – July 2019
The Call Committee welcomed input from the congregation about what we would like to see in a new Pastor: qualities, characteristics, skills, abilities, priorities, etc. plus mutual expectations from a new Pastor and the congregation in the first year and questions the Committee should ask when interviewing candidates.

~ conversations on Sundays in June and July focused on what we would like to see in a new Pastor, mutual expectation for the first year, and what questions the Call Committee should ask when interviewing pastoral candidates.
~ there was also opportunity to provide input via written forms.

through July 15, 2019
Everyone was invited to nominate a candidate to be our next Lead Pastor. Completed forms were sent directly to the Northwest Washington Synod office.
 
May 19, 2019
The Call committee was elected a specially called Congregation Meeting on May 19. Members of the Call Committee are: Marc Bateman, Bill Brueggemann, Dianne Chong, Mary Davis, Stephanie Page-Lester, and Linda Powell

May 2019
The Call Committee will be elected at a Special Congregation Meeting on Sunday, May 19, at 9:45 am.
Nominations to serve on the Call Committee are closed. 
Additional nominations will be accepted from the floor at the meeting. 

The Transition Team presented its input for the Ministry Site Profile on May 5 and provided opportunity for comment and feedback.  They completed their work in mid-May.

March – April – May  2019
Nominations to serve on the Call Committee were accepted through Sunday, May 5, 2019.

The Transition Team presented two forms with questions related to the MSP process and invited the entire congregation to provide input with one or both forms. Input was considered as the Transition Team developed the Ministry Site Profile.

Sunday Discipleship Hours in March, April, and May were dedicated to bringing updates and seeking input as the Transition Team developed the Ministry Site Profile (MSP).
