Bells of the Sound Christmas Concert

Mark your calendars: Bells of the Sound will return to Saint Andrew’s on December 15, 2024 for a handbell concert filled with holiday music!
Bells of the Sound is not your typical handbell choir. Under the direction of Shirley Lindberg, this talented group of musicians is a dynamic force in the handbell world – encouraging composers to create new works and advancing this exciting instrument into the mainstream of entertainment. They perform on over 7 octaves of Malmark handbells, 5 octaves Malmark Choirchimes, 2 octaves of Schulmerich Silver Melody Bells, and 4+ octaves of Petit and Fritsen handbells – over 200 pieces of equipment and one of the largest sets in the country. Bells of the Soundwill give you a whole new perspective of handbells that you won’t want to miss!

Johnson-Enlow Duo
A lovely summer concert featuring the Johnson-Enlow Duo. Violist and Saint Andrew’s member Leslie Johnson and pianist Charles Enlow gave a concert featuring beautiful sonatas by Schubert and Franck.

Salon à Trois
Salon à Trois featured some composers whose names may be familiar, like Clara Schumann (Robert Schumann’s wife) and Fanny Mendelssohn (Felix Mendelssohn’s sister); some who may be new to you, like Cecile Chaminade (French), Amy Beach (American), and Rebecca Clarke (British); and some who are still living, one of which (Vartan Aghababian) composed trios specifically with our group in mind!
The repertoire we share comprised of both duos and trios for Soprano, Viola, and Piano.The trio includes Saint Andrew’s member Hillary Nordwell, piano; Ann Moss, soprano; and Justin Ouellet, viola.

Trio Animé
The Trio Animé delighted the audience with a concert of chamber music masterpieces, featuring works by Max Bruch and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Trio Animé specializes in works written for this unique and beautiful instrumental combination.
The trio includes Saint Andrew’s member Leslie Johnson, viola; Eliza Siracusan, clarinet; and Charles Enlow, piano.

A Piacere Musica da Camera
Please join us for a delightful evening of chamber music featuring a quintet of HyeKyung Seo and John Kim, violin; Saint Andrew’s member Dr. Leslie Johnson, viola; Brian Wharton, violoncello; and Dr. Charles Enlow, piano. They will perform Maurice Ravel’s String Quartet in F major and Antonín DvoĆák’s Piano Quintet No.2 in A major Op.81, B.155.
The concert is free and open to all! Invite a friend or two. Free-will donations will be collected at the door.
