Pastor Red Burchfield began his ministry at Saint Andrew’s on January 22, 2019.
February 2, 2020 will be Pastor Burchfield’s last Sunday at Saint Andrew’s. Join us during Discipleship Hour at 9:45 am to thank him for his year of ministry with us.
I was ordained in 1977 and have served pastorates in Iowa, Colorado, Washington, Oregon and Cape Town, South Africa; in rural, suburban and urban settings; in solo and associate team positions; and I served as the Director of Outreach for Region 1 of the ELCA from 2002-2009.
I received training and certification as an Intentional Interim Minister through the Ecumenical Interim Ministry Network, and have served in eight interim ministry assignments ranging from 3 – 24 months in length.
I am married to Reverend Susan Vanhoy Burchfield. We have two adult daughters and three grandchildren. I love a good joke and have a special concern for congregations in transition and for all those facing loss and grief.
My Pastoral Purpose:
To engage leaders in the formation of an evangelizing congregation that makes disciples for Jesus Christ and equips the community to use their gifts for God’s reign in the church and world.
