Livestream information and links

As of May 4: Washington State’s “Washington State’s “Smart Start” approach to reopening does not allow gatherings of more than 50 people until Phase 4, and the date for beginning Phase 4 will not be determined for several weeks.
Check back for updates as Washington State’s phased “Smart Start” approach to reopening progresses.

Masks: We have volunteers in the congregation who are willing to make masks for anyone in the congregation who may need or want one. Please contact the church, info@salc.church or 425-746-2529, to arrange to get a mask.

As of March 24:  The office is CLOSED until the state “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order is lifted. Staff members are working from home and monitoring email and voicemail. Physical mail continues to be delivered to the church. Please reach out if you need to contact us.

The church calendar has up-to-date information on activities/events/meetings.

We are monitoring news and recommendations from local and regional health departments.

We are taking the following precautions:

  • We are wiping down “common touch” areas daily.
  • Frequent and thorough hand washing is encouraged.
  • Hand sanitizer is available throughout the building.
  • Furnaces are running full-time to help filter the air in the building.

Please call or email the church, 425-746-2529 or info@salc.church, and let us know how you’re doing, especially if you are in need of something such as a meal or even a roll of toilet paper. We will figure out the best way to get it to you.

EVERYONE is encouraged to follow health agency recommendations, especially if you are in a high risk group.

Also, we encourage you to be cautious of suspicious emails and/or phone calls.  Scammers are at work!

The apostle Paul reminds us that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. We are connected to each other through God’s love wherever we happen to be.

We will continue to update the congregation as new information is available.
Please contact the church office if you have any questions.

  • Sunday’s complete bulletin, including the reading (John 4:5-42) and hymns (ELW #843 and 777), was linked in the eNews.
  • Find a comfortable place in your home for worship. It’s even okay to be in your pajamas!.
  • Get some crackers or bread and something to drink so that we can share Communion.
  • Light a candle if you have one.
  • For what or for whom do you pray today? Send prayer requests to Pastor Lara before Sunday morning: pastor@salc.church
You can also submit requests during the livestream, but there may be up to a 30-second delay.

Worship for Sundays, March 15, March 22, and March 29 will be at 9:30 am and will be  LIVESTREAMED ONLY.
On those days there will be no other Saint Andrew’s activities, including Discipleship Hour classes.
The doors to the building will be locked, and the only people allowed in will be people needed to assist with worship and the livestream.
We will send out an email prior to Sundays with some “pre-worship homework” for you, so that you are ready for Sunday morning.

Lenten Midweek soup suppers and worship services are CANCELED for the remainder of the season (March 18, March 25, and April 1). You are invited to participate in the livestream of Holden Evening Prayer, hosted by Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seattle. Information is available on Immanuel’s Facebook page and website (www.immanuelseattle.org).

All Saint Andrew’s committees and groups are asked to either postpone their meetings, or meet via conference call or Microsoft Teams. The church office will provide instructions and tutorials as needed to help set up those formats.

We will continue to host Congregations for the Homeless (CfH) for this month. Our coordinators are in contact with CfH staff to ensure that policies are being honored and that CfH has the supplies and resources they need from us.

Pastor Lara is available 24/7 for emergencies and phone calls (this is unchanged). However, visits will only be made in emergency circumstances. The staff is working to implement a phone tree/buddy system to ensure that everyone is cared for.

At this time, we are planning to have regular office hours at the church. However, we strongly encourage you to follow the protocols set by the King County Department of Health and stay home if that is the recommendation for your age group. If we do close the office, we will notify you as quickly as possible.

As of March 8, 2020

The church is OPEN for Sunday worship: 8:30 am and 11:00 am, with Discipleship Hour classes at 9:45 am.

The office is open normal hours:  Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 4;00 pm.

We are monitoring news and recommendations from local and regional health departments.

We are taking precautions, such as the following:

  • We are wiping down “common touch” areas daily.
  • As part of its normal practices, the Altar Guild washes hands prior to preparing the Communion supplies and ensures that common use items are cleaned for use on a weekly basis.
  • In consideration of the coronavirus, in addition to its normal practices, the Altar Guild is also:
    •  suspending the use of the chalice for serving Communion.
    • santitizing trays and bowls before, between, and after worship services.
    • wiping down the altar, railing, and baptismal font before, between, and after worship services.
  • We are wiping down “common touch” areas, such as the armrests and tops of pews before and between services.
  • Communion servers and ushers will wash hands and use hand sanitizer before, during, and after worship.
  • At the Peace, an elbow bump or verbal “Peace be with You” is encouraged instead of shaking hands.
  • Ushers will hold the offering plates and walk them around, rather than pass them through the pews.
  • Worship bulletins will not be re-used; please take your bulletin home with you after worship (it can be used as a devotional tool, a reference for the following week’s readings, and prayer resource.)
  • Children’s church bags, filled with crayons, snacks, coloring sheets, stickers, etc., can be taken home following worship.
  • Hand sanitizer is available throughout the building for your use.
  • Frequent and thorough hand washing is encouraged.
