Congregation Liaison: Outreach and Servant Ministries Committee
Friends of Youth is an organization that helps young people in challenging circumstances get their lives back on track. Friends of Youth positively impacts youth and young adults ages 6-24 and their families.
Its programs serve homeless youth, including the only overnight youth shelter on the Eastside, street outreach, transitional living programs, and case management; youth in foster care, and youth and families needing support services such as mental health counseling, substance abuse counseling, parenting education, academic support, and in-home family support for young parents.
Saint Andrew’s supports Friends of Youth with budgeted funds and participation at Friends of Youth events and fundraisers. Saint Andrew’s also partners with Friends of Youth to be a “Safe Place,” where youth in crisis can come to get access to shelter and resources.
