Coordinator: Dianne Chong, Health and Wholeness Ministry

KnitWits (Knitting as Witnesses) are a group whose primary mission is to provide items of comfort which are knit and/or crocheted.

The KnitWits meet on the third Sunday of every month at 11:15 am (following worship) in 322/Conference Room. All are welcome!

Prayer shawls are the focus of this ministry. The knitter or crocheter prays for the recipient as her needles create a soft shawl that brings physical warmth and spiritual comfort. It’s an embrace of prayer that serves as a tangible reminder of God’s constant love and presence that can bring healing to the heart.
The prayer shawls are distributed to those in need by Saint Andrew’s Faith Community Nurses, Pastors and church members.

The KnitWits also knit/crochet baptismal blankets, purple baby caps, chemo caps, scarves for veterans, black hats for MaaSAE Girls Lutheran Secondary School students, sweaters, blankets, and wash cloths.
