Martin Marty reminds us that Advent is as much a season of the heart as it
is a season of nature. Musical scholar Brian Wren invites us into the
deeper truth of our hearts in this paraphrase of his Advent prayer: We
Rejoice and Exult.
Living and Loving God,
we praise and adore you
for calling us out of our hiding,
accepting us in Jesus,
forgiving our sin,
and setting us free.
With body, mind, heart and voice
we rejoice and exult
that you are who you are,
for ever and ever. Amen.
we all rejoice in God’s gracious love and may we respond to God’s love with
generous hearts, hands and habits.
