WEBS Spring Book Study: WEBS is Women’s Early Book Study.  We are preparing for our Spring Session!
A Wild and Heavenly Place by Robin Oliveira is our book selection for our Spring book discussions.  This book is by a local author and she may be able to visit our group as our guest.  The novel starts in the tenements of Glasgow, Scotland and follows our hero and heroine to Newcastle, Washington as they start a new life in the coal mines as immigrants.  This is part of our series on prejudice.
We will meet on Wednesday mornings at 10:00 a.m. sharp and end at 11:30 a.m. promptly in the Church Library.  Starting on Wednesday, April 30th, we will meet weekly until June 11th.  We will read and discuss about 70 pages each week, but the reading is light and it will go fast.  History (1878-1888), the role of the church, prejudice against the poor, geography, immigration, and faith will be some of our topics.  All women are welcome to join us in person or on Zoom.  Contact Cheryl Jurrus (cheryljurrus74@gmail.com) for more information.
“Poignant and lyrical, A Wild and Heavenly Place is an ode to the Pacific Northwest, to those courageous enough to chase the American Dream, and to a love so powerful it endures beyond distance, beyond hope.” (Amazon)
