Prayer

God, creator of all living things, you fashioned a world in which lands and waterways, plants and animals, together meet the needs of all that you made. We pray that such vitality may flourish around the globe. Bless those who work the soil and who manage animals. Uphold their towns and villages. Nurture bees and other pollinators. Protect farmlands and ranches from drought and flood. Free children from forced labor in the fields. Grant an economy that can sustain those families who treasure a rural life. Teach us how to share with everyone the benefits of each harvest, and accept our gratitude for all sustenance you provide, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.

This 2-part Forum will be held Sundays, April 21 and 28.
Saint Andrew’s member Jeff Thiel leads these sessions which focus on:
~ Updates on our understanding of what is happening.
~ Updates on the status of solutions.
~ How we can do our part as households.
~ How we can do our part as a congregation.
On April 21, we’ll break into teams for a “Climate Change News Quiz” modeled after the New York Times weekly news quiz that will help people understand what has changed since Jeff last led a discussion on this topic in February 2020.
Jeff is an expert in the subject of climate change and is a tireless promoter of solutions to the global climate crisis.

Marli Edde
Our sister in Christ, Marli Edde, died April 12. Marli was a long-time member of Saint Andrew’s, and the mother of Sonja Feldman, mother-in-law of Guy, and grandmother of Collin and Caden. Staffing Update
Communications Specialist Susan Hegedus has submitted her letter of resignation, as she would like more time to spend with family who live in different states and countries. The transition will take some time, and Susan and congregation leadership will work together to determine her final working date. To answer the question that will be on everyone’s mind: Susan is committed to completing the Photo Directory before leaving!

Food Collection for Hopelink
For April, Hopelink has asked us to collect items for people with dietary restrictions. They have many vegan, halal, kosher, gluten-free, and nut-free or peanut-free clients. Suggested items include vegan and vegetarian soups (Amy’s brand for example), gluten-free pasta, sunflower butter, almond butter, canned salmon/fish, and any allergen-free product.
