Prayer
God,
whose Spirit moved over the deep: We thank you for the gift of water—the
waters on the earth, and under the earth, the water above us, and within us.
Make us mindful of the care of all the planet’s water, that it may richly
sustain life for us and for those who come after us; through Jesus Christ,
source of living water. Amen.

Food Collection for Hopelink
Hopelink is gearing up for their End Summer Hunger program to
support families with school-aged children. During the summer, these children
no longer have access to the feeding programs at school. During June,
Hopelink has asked us to collect Peanut Butter (about 16-ounce jars -
other non-peanut butters are okay); and Jelly or Jam (about
12-to-20-ounce jars) to support this program
Also, Hopelink always appreciates the paper bags we supply to them. They are
eager to get them and make them available to their clients.

Coming Up
PorchLight Men's Rotating
Shelter
June 5 - July 1, at Saint
Andrew’s
The PorchLight Men’s Rotating Shelter has settled in at Saint Andrew’s
and we are hosting them for the remainder of June. This is a special program
for men who are “clean and sober” and are on the path to stable housing. They
are here from 6:00 pm to 7:30 am every day, and all day on
Saturdays, June 22 and 29. We have
many volunteers helping. We still need:
~ Donations to cover the cost of supplies. If you want to contribute
to this ministry, mark a check “PorchLight Hosts for June” and put it in the
offering or mail it to the church.
~ Hosts to welcome the men and the meal providers (6:00 pm to
7:00 pm). Contact Cheryl Jurrus if you can help.

KidVantage Diaper Derby
through June 7
We are in the home stretch! Saint Andrew’s is participating in the
KidVantage 10th Annual
Diaper Derby, a friendly “competition” to collect diapers and wipes for
KidVantage. How the Derby Works: Points are attached to each diaper
donated and for packages of wipes donated for each “race horse”, and we
“race” with like-sized organizations. The larger diaper sizes (size 4 and up
and pull-ups) are most needed. You can donate financially through the KidVantage website under our
“horse” name DANDY ANDY or “Saint Andrew’s Lutheran Church.” Let’s help our
struggling young families to not have to choose between feeding the family or
buying diapers! For more information, contact Liz Rudolph.
Dorcas Circle and Luncheon
Tuesday, June 11, 9:30 am –
12:30 pm, Fellowship Hall
All are welcome to come assemble and sew quilts for Lutheran
World Relief - sewing skills not required! Donations of flat sheets in good
condition, AND crochet and embroidery thread of all colors to tie quilts are
also needed. Quilting will be followed by a potluck lunch with members of the
Dorcas Circle and Health and Wholeness Ministry Committee. Contact Linda
Willenberg for more information.
