Coordinator: Outreach and Servant Ministries Committee

During each Advent season, we at Saint Andrew’s have the special opportunity to brighten the Christmas holiday for many people in our community.

Placed in the Narthex in November, the Love Tree is decorated with tags that specify the gift request. Congregation members and friends take the tags, purchase the items, and return them to the Love Tree.  Gifts are given to people served by Bridge Disability Ministries, Eastside Baby Corner, Imagine Housing (including children, veterans, and seniors), and The Sophia Way.

Current Opportunities

Love Tree 2020:
The Saint Andrew’s Christmas Love Tree, an annual tradition, has been reimagined for this holiday season.
Most of the outreach agencies we usually support with toys and clothing won’t be giving us wish-lists because of Covid-19.  Instead we will be purchasing gift cards for residents at a couple of Imagine Housing facilities and for The Sophia Way.

We need your support – and no wrapping required.  Just send a donation check made out to Saint Andrew’s Lutheran Church with the notation “Love Tree.”
Our goal is to wrap up this part of the Love Tree by mid-November.

Love Tree / Bridge Disability Ministries 2019: As part of the Christmas “Love Tree” program, we also provide Christmas gifts to 21 disabled Bridge Ministry clients. Gift givers provide the gifts for a client (a list of suggestions is provided.)  You need to wrap the gifts, list what you purchased, include any gift receipts that may be needed, and return it all to the church in a bag that is provided. If you would like to be a participant in this special ministry, please contact the church office.
