Discipleship is education and action. It is for youth and adults.

Discipleship is about creating followers of Jesus. One part of discipleship is learning a specific set of information and completing certain tasks, but it’s not defined by those actions. Discipleship is more holistic. It’s not age specific. It’s concerned not just about knowing but is more focused on embodying. It connects the head and the heart. It’s about being reunited with Jesus.

  • Activities, retreats, and trips for youth groups provide opportunities for fellowship, fun, and service. Many activities span age ranges.

Pastor Lara Forbes began her ministry at Saint Andrew’s on February 18, 2020.

Personal Ministry Statement:  As a Christian I am called to love God and my neighbor. As I live this out as a pastor, I have come to understand that no congregation exists solely for itself. Rather, it’s an integral part of its surrounding community and the relationship between church and community is living, breathing, and dynamic.

Before coming to Saint Andrew’s, Pastor Lara served at Faith Lutheran Church in Phoenix, Arizona for ten years.  She is originally from Washington State.

Hello! I am excited to share my love and passion for church and ministry with the youth and family of Saint Andrew’s. I grew up in California, where church was a big part of my life. As a lifelong Lutheran, the church as always been a place of comfort, a place to call home, and a place for me to be challenged and grow. (more…)
