Prayer
Holy
Spirit, you move through all creation with sighs too deep for words. Open our
hearts to listen to the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor. Speak
through your church to rebuke the forces that seek to exploit your planet.
Join our human prayers with the voices of all creation and move us to honor
you by preserving the gifts of nature that reveal your glory. Amen.

Communications
Committee
Communications Specialist Susan Hegedus is retiring at the end of August.
With Susan’s retirement we want to review and modernize our different ways of
communication. If you are interested in being part of that conversation, or
if you have ideas, please consider joining the Communications Committee. For
more information, please contact Johannes Grad.
Devotional
Books
We have received the Christ in Our Home and The Word in Season
booklets for July/August/September, and they are now available in the Narthex
- pick them up whenever the building is open. We also have a limited supply
of large print devotional booklets available. Call the church office,
425-746-2529, if you would like one of the large print devotional booklets.
Pride Bandanas
June
is PRIDE month. The JEDI Group (Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion) has
rainbow Northwest Washington Synod Pride bandanas for a suggested donation of
$8-10. JEDI purchased the bandanas from the synod for $5, and the extra funds
collected will go to purchasing more books for the JEDI book library in the
Narthex. There are 5 left! Contact Sherry Grindeland, sherry@salc.church or
425-746-2529, to get your bandana!
Food Collection for Hopelink
Hopelink is gearing up for their End Summer Hunger program to
support families with school-aged children. During the summer, these children
no longer have access to the feeding programs at school. During June,
Hopelink has asked us to collect Peanut Butter (about 16-ounce jars -
other non-peanut butters are okay); and Jelly or Jam (about
12-to-20-ounce jars) to support this program.
Also, Hopelink always appreciates the paper bags we supply to them.
They are eager to get them and make them available to their clients.
